yes it will be better if you go with php and mysql because you get database support in that option

It will certainly allow you to do some rather interesting things. With XHTML, CSS and JavaScript, the most you’ll be able to do is interaction with static content, but when you add server-side scripting and a database then you can start doing truly interactive things.
