I have a domain site and hosting with godaddy. Do I need to install anything on there to practice?

Most hosts support PHP and MySQL. So, you shouldn’t have to install anything special. Refer to godaddy’s own help section if you’re working on something and want to make sure they have what you need to make your scripts work. If you want more specific help, see my profile.
Just stay away from programs like FrontPage and Dreamweaver. Learn PHP and MySQL from scratch.

Get the latest Version of php & mysql for dummies.. It will really give you the basics and get you started. The book is really good for beginners and will really build a good solid foundation in php.
